Therapy I offer

CBT+

CBT+ integrates traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with evidence-based approaches like ACT, DBT skills, mindfulness, and compassion-focused therapy to create a comprehensive treatment tailored to vestibular disorders. This flexible framework addresses not only unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, but also teaches acceptance, emotional regulation, present-moment awareness, and self-compassion - providing a complete toolkit for managing chronic dizziness and its impact on your life. Read more about the individual therapies that make up CBT+ below:

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy teaches you to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, while committing to actions aligned with your personal values. You learn that you can live a meaningful life without needing to eliminate all distressing sensations first.

CFT

Compassion Focussed Therapy helps you develop a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself when dealing with difficult symptoms or setbacks. It teaches that self-compassion promotes healing and resilience, while self-criticism activates threat responses in the brain that can worsen anxiety and physical symptoms.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness-based therapy teaches you to pay attention to the present moment with curiosity and without judgment, observing dizziness or discomfort as passing sensations rather than threats. This approach reduces the anxiety and hypervigilance that can amplify vestibular symptoms and helps break the cycle of symptom-focused attention.

DBT Skills

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills training teaches practical techniques for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships with others. Core skills include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness - all highly effective for managing the anxiety and lifestyle disruption that often accompany chronic vestibular conditions.
